53 years ago Jimmy set out for the California coast with nothing but his old chevy, a copy of 'Pet Sounds' in the disk player, and his two best friends. Due to unforeseen circumstances (he came across a series of lucrative mineral collections he just had to buy) they ran out of spare cash for gas and decided to try his luck where the sunsets burn crimson.

In Arizona, '49er Minerals was born.

 

'49er Minerals is a family owned small business dedicated to collecting the boundless beauty of nature and sharing it with the rest of the world. Jimmy (the geologist) along with his wife Joyce (the brains) and their children (the labor) have made '49er Minerals a leader in the field and one of the most renowned names in the Southwestern United States, and the world. We supply pigments, minerals, and specimens to all sorts of different companies, non profits, and individuals all over the world.
